You. A harmless word. You may think. But in my opinion it is the most overused word in our language. All it does is emphasize separation between us. you should, you shouldn’t, you never, you haven’t, you like, you don’t like, you mean, you don’t get. If one was to substitute the word “you” for “one” in conversation, would our point be accepted a little more openly. YOU decided!
Only a little time ago I was very near to throwing all my work away. Deleted, gone, vamoussed. For ever hours and hours of work in the bin then digital heaven.
Why? I hear you ask. Well when one works on a project that takes so much time one can lose momentum and lost momentum means lack of drive then inspiration is lost.
Thanks to a couple of key convesations I came to understand this.
If you lose inspiration you have to go back in your mind to the point of conception and recall the feeling you had that drove you to starting the project in the first place. For me it was the desire to find out in more depth what the intrinsic inner qualities of the divine feminine and masculine are. Then to share this with the world.
I wish to make films are spiritually fullfilling and uplifting. Where anyone can whatch and get something from it to carry with them and assist in their own growth. No matter where they are in life. Young, old, smart or simple, spiritually rich or poor. If it can help one person then my work has value.
I have been questioning my interview style.
I have been learning the do’s and don’t’s, but i think for my next films, i’m going to look into reading some writings on good interviewing techniques.
Now i can at least see my interview style, just needing to refine it.
Anybody that has suggested reading material please let me know.
I think i will share my progress on the films as well here.
I am now starting on the mind map for “The True Masculine” It has come together very quickly.
Even titles for sections are coming to me while mind mapping. I have my last interview coming up in December then in January i will knuckle down and get that finished during January.
I am yet to finalise the DF as there is one more interview taking place in a week or so. So then i shall begin the sliming process as at the moment it is 94 minutes, which i think is too long for this type of documentary.
Film making is like gardening. If one keeps chipping away then final thing slowly reveals itself overtime.
